Do you have a WordPress blog that covers various categories of various interests? What happens when visitors subscribe to your blog? They will get updates on all the content whether it interests them or not. So why not create feeds for each of your categories? This way you can offer your loyal visitors to access feeds of the contents which interests them only. That would be a value added targeting of your content. So how do you do that?
Let’s take our example. We have a category for ‘resources’ and would like to provide feeds for all the posts coming under the particular category. The url of the resources category is
http://www.webbyzone.com/category/resources/
To get the RSS feed for this category, all we need to do is add the word ‘feed’ at the end of the url, like
http://www.webbyzone.com/category/resources/feed
Here’s the code to create the category RSS feed -
<a href="<?php echo get_the_category().'/feed'; ?>"><?php echo get_the_category().' rss feed'; ?></a>
